Concerning the claim that any one who has not spoken in tongues has not
received the Holy Spirit is too absolute! From ancient times till now, there
have been many devout Christians all over the world who have loved the
Lord, and many who have offered themselves up to become great servants of
God. Yet they may have never spoken in tongues: does it mean they did not
have the Holy Spirit?
To fulfil the promise of God, the Holy Spirit was given to those who believed
so that they spoke in tongues. Today, there are many things that can prove
the truth of the gospel. Therefore, miracles, speaking in tongues, etc. are
not as necessary as in the times of the apostles ... The speaking of tongues
as recorded in the Bible is the experience of the early saints. Today, we no
longer need to pursue a&er such an experience.
